SORIN AUREL DALCA / PIRATE CAPTAIN - 24. 5'11". british-romanian. pirate captain of the speranţă. - born on january 21, 2226, he has a twin sister, sonia, who was younger than him by approximately eight minutes. sorin belonged to a family unit of six, consisting of his father, mother, older brother, twin sister, and younger sister. at the age of 5, his parents struck a deal with pirates to take them to the states. his mother was a renowned scientist who was requested to help with a possible cure to the viral infection. his father never made it through the trip. sorin never found out why since his mother refused to talk about it. - at the age of 14, his older brother was killed while protecting him from a pack of fiare on a supply hunt. he could do nothing to save him, but he never forgave himself for it. after that, he began to learn how to effectively protect himself, devoting every single day to training in hand-to-hand combat, marksmanship, and even swordsmanship (specifically knives). - during the start of the second reckoning, many scientists were blamed and executed for the effects of the pathogen. his mother was no exemption. she was shot right in front of him by the community leader in texas. he tried to stop them, but the lives of his sisters were threatened in response. once again, he was unable to save someone he loved. - after the execution of his mother, sorin decided to leave the fortified community with his sisters. they joined a band of people who were hoping to go to california where shelter rules were less oppressive. unfortunately, his younger sister grew ill during the journey. they had to stay behind as the group carried on without them. her condition was worsening and they refused to wait on them. two weeks before they were due to reach their destination, his younger sister succumbed to her illness. they buried her in arizona. - matters did not improve once he reached california with sonia. they were intercepted by raiders days from the fortified community. in the ensuing fight, sonia was taken from him and he was beaten to an inch of his life. by some miracle, he was found and saved by another group of travelers. they brought him to the californian shelter. for a year after that, he tried to search for his twin to no avail. it was during this year he met his future first mate. he saved the man's life from a fiară. in gratitude, he decided to help him with his search for his sister. - over the years, sorin has heard many tales of pirates. he never considered it to be a route he would ever take, yet apparently fate thought otherwise. as they tracked sonia down, sorin eventually found out the raiders sold her off to pirates. his heart sunk. she could be anywhere in the world now. it didn't take him long to make a decision. if pirates have his sister, then the obvious solution was for him to find them. all he had to do was figure out a way to do it. - it's 2250 now. sorin is now captain sorin dalca of the ever gorgeous speranţă. he has yet to locate the whereabouts of sonia, but he hasn't given up hope yet. with a loyal and dedicated crew, he traverse the high seas in search of his twin, making the occasional short trips on land to restock. how did he end up here? well, that's an ever-changing story for him to tell. - oh yeah, if you're a land dweller, beware. he isn't particularly too fond of you lot. bad experiences, shall we say? he has little to no mercy for you as he does a fiară. - sorin can speak english and romanian fluently. he has a passing knowledge of spanish, russian, and chinese. his accent is british with a subtle romanian lilt.
